Film
Rating: B-
If you're a true fan of Dario Argento, then this look into the mind
of the maestro will chill your soul. Yeah, that's a bit dramatic,
but this is a helluva good documentary about the Italian horror
master.
Disc Ratings (Video/Audio/Extras):
B+/B+/B
This debut release, from Don May Jr.'s Synapse Films, is a fine
one. The video is clear and free of noise, and the sound is fine.
There's also a nice filmography of Dario Argento, for those of us
who like his work, but have no idea many films this guy has worked
on.
Overall Rating: B+
There aren't enough documentaries on DVD, and so I'm always glad to
see 'em when they come out. Synapse has a winner with this title. |
Specs
and Features
71 mins, NR, full screen (1.33:1), single-sided, single-layered,
Amaray keep case packaging, Dario Argento filmography, film-themed
menus, scene access (20 chapters), languages: English (DD 1.0),
subtitles: none
Bottom line
Loads of tender loving care were put into this title, and it shows.
The video and audio quality are both above average for such a small
company, and I'm a big fan of Argento, so having this hard to find
film on DVD is a big deal.
