To Die For
1995 (1998) -

Film
Rating: A
To me, the black comedies are always better than your normal "ha-ha"
comedies. Throw in directing whirlwind Gus Van Sant, the slightly
skewered comic sense of Buck Henry, and an all-star cast, and you
have my vote for one of the funniest "mocumentaries" ever
made.
Disc Ratings (Video/Audio/Extras): A/B+/C
The audio is pretty good. The image quality is better. I was a
little scared that the DVD would fail, in the brilliant opening
title sequence with its vibrant use of close up newspaper photos.
Surprise to me - it's one of the clearest DVD images out there. No
real extras, outside of the hilarious trailer.
Overall Rating: A-
It's a wickedly funny movie and a beautiful disc. Not much more can
be said. |
