Sniper
1993 (1998) - Columbia TriStar Home Video

review by Todd Doogan, special to The Digital Bits

Enhanced for 16x9 TVs

Film Rating: D
Boring and tedious drivel. There's nothing in this film to escape with: no neat shots, not one great line of dialogue, and there's no one who you can really identify with, because both heroes are pricks.

Disc Ratings (Video/Audio/Extras): B+/B+/D
It looks and sounds fine. And there are no extras, beside the trailer. That's great, because I don't have to waste my time watching it. Added points there.

Overall Rating: C-
The video and audio quality elevates the movie. It looks great, no doubt about it, but the movie is unquestionably bad. Go ahead - start sending letters now, but this movie is bad, bad, bad.

Specs and Features

99 mins, R, letterboxed widescreen (1.85:1), 16x9 enhanced, full frame (1.33:1), dual-sided, singled-layered, Amaray keep case packaging, theatrical trailer, film-themed menu screens, scene access (28 chapters), languages: English & French (DD 2.0), subtitles: English & French, Close Captioned

Bottom line

Did I say that this movie is bad? No? It's bad. DVD = wonderful looking and sounding. Movie = virtually unwatchable.
