Site created 12/15/97.		review added: 1/25/99 Dead Alive 1992 (1998) - Trimark Home Video review by Todd Doogan, special to The Digital Bits Film Rating: A- For comedic horror, you can't do much better than this messy hit from Peter Jackson -- the man currently behind the reworking of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. It's the story of a boy, a girl, and the boy's dead mother. That, and a priest who kicks ass for the Lord. Disc Ratings (Video/Audio/Extras): B-/B+/C I know that Jackson has hours of behind the scenes footage, plus there's a longer edit of this film in Europe. Why Trimark didn't get that extra stuff is beyond me. The audio is clean, but the video is slightly noisy. Nothing to kick the disc to the curb for, but noticeable. Overall Rating: B+ It's a fun flick, that I'm always in the mood for. The disc is all right - I'm not ecstatic about it, but I am happy that it's on DVD. Now where is Meet The Feebles? Specs and Features 97 mins, NR, letterboxed widescreen (1.85:1), 16x9 enhanced, single-sided, single-layered, Amaray keep case packaging, theatrical trailer, film-themed menus, scene access (24 chapters), languages: English (DD 2.0) subtitles: English, Spanish and French, Closed Captioned Bottom line Zombies and Jackson. It's a marriage made in hell, and I'm there every step of the way. Someday, DVD companies will know better than to release cult movies like this as bare bones editions.
