About the Artist of the Month Program / Application

Artist of the Month Archive & Link Section

After suspending the Arist profile program for awhile, we're back! If you would like to see your art featured here, please send me your submission (even if you have in the past, I'm starting over so send it again!)

For those of you who went to Comic-Con this year, you may already be familiar with our artist this month - Frank Grau. He did the artwork found on the cover of your Con events bible. So enjoy these great images, and click on them to get to his website to see more.

If you are an artist and would like to be considered for the Artist of the Month program, please email me!

Artist's Bi Frank Grau

Having drawn since the age of five, I’m essentially self-taught, with whatever tips and tricks one picks up from friends, associates, books, and other sources along one’s ca-reer. I’ve been illustrating and designing for the giftware industry for the last fifteen-plus years, but am now migrating into print and entertainment media.

My work was featured in Spectrum 10 fantasy annual, and most recently I illustrated the cover of the 2008 Comic Con event guide.

I enjoy visual story-telling, whether in comics, story-boarding, or children’s book illustration. Currently I’m working on a comic project for a newer Canadian company, but I’ve also got my own comic title I’m developing in my spare time. I’ve done some story-boarding lately, and it’s something I intend to do on a regular basis if the opportunity presents itself. I have several children’s book projects tucked away in the back of my mind, accompanied by concept work, and some of the illustrations featured here are from stories I’m developing.

On a personal note, I’m married with four tax-deductions and am a life-long So Cal resident.

You can see more of Franks work on his website at https://www.frankgrau.com.

The program is open to artists of all kinds - painters, sculptors, illustrators, photographers and even performance artists. Professional or amateur. If you're interested in sharing your art with the world, or receiving more information about this program, please contact Sarah Hunt or click on the link below. See you again next month with another great artist!
