Rating: A
Well the next set of DVD volumes is upon us and we at The
Bits couldn't be happier. It's no secret that we're fans
of these dirty little smut-mouthed kids, and they've really grown
comedically over the last year. Scoop these up, because they're
super sweet.
Disc Ratings (Video/Audio/Extras):
B+/B+/B
The audio and video are very good. Gone are the reported "pops"
that so many people complained about in the first wave. The video
does have a little bit of NTSC shimmer, but this is so much better
than watching them on regular TV. The intros by Parker and Stone are
a bit funnier this time around. They're both in a retirement
community playing Slayer, throwing ninja stars at their guests,
making bacon-laced food products and feeding pork to a cannibalistic
pig named Macon. It's very funny. There's also a new commercial for
Comedy Central's The Daily Show,
hosted by Jon Stewart.
Overall Rating: B+
You can't go wrong with South Park
on DVD. The problems collector's had with the first volumes are
fixed (including the addition of closed captioning). The quality is
wonderful on DVD and the disc's will look great in any collection
right next to South Park: Bigger, Longer
and Uncut. If you're a fan, you probably already own
them. If not, what are you waiting for? |
