Sharky's Machine
1981 (1998) - Orion
Pictures (Warner Bros.)

Film
Rating: B-
Every time I watch this movie, it makes me realize just how popular
Burt Reynolds was. This is the last good movie made that had his
name over the title. And hey - the same city I'm writing this review
in, served as practically a character in this film. Got to give it
points for that.
Disc Ratings (Video/Audio/Extras): B-/C/F
The sound is simply okay. The video is a little grainy and drained
of personality. The extras? There's not a single one. To make
matters worse, the Atlanta skyline is slighted by this P&S
transfer.
Overall Rating: C-
Okay transfer, fun movie. But what's going on over at Warner?
Everything is standard with a bulk of their releases lately. |
Specs
and Features
122 mins, R, full frame (1.33:1), single-sided, single-layered,
Snapper case, scene access (36 chapters), language: English (DD
2.0), subtitles: English, Close Captioned
Bottom line
I like Sharky's Machine. I
liked it before I came to Atlanta, and I like it now. I'm a big Burt
fan -- and I'm very out about it. Although this disc is one of many
plain-Jane Warner titles being dumped into the market, it still has
an overall good transfer. I would have loved to see it letterboxed
though.
