The Bits @ Winter CES '99!

On Thursday and Friday of last week, The Digital Bits visited the 1999 Winter International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Key on our list of things to do, was to attend all DVD related events, and to cover key press conferences and panel discussions. I was privileged to meet both Richard Sharp (CEO Divx & Circuit City) and Warren Lieberfarb (president of Warner Home Video) in person, and had the opportunity to attend a roundtable discussion held by Lieberfarb, following the panel on DVD Technologies. I also interviewed Divx Entertainment president Paul Brindze, and got an up-close look at the joint Thomson / Divx HD-DVD demonstration. I think you'll find that our coverage will help you to make better sense of some of the news stories to come out of the show, and to put them in better context. So enjoy!
