Blu-ray Disc & HD-DVD at CES 2006

After more than a year of waiting, this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) saw the formal unveiling, by representatives of both the HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc camps, of plans to launch their respective formats by mid-2006. Major announcements were made by electronics manufacturers and the Hollywood studios alike on behalf of both high-definition videodisc formats. As you might expect, The Digital Bits was there to cover the event and we've got a full report on all the key developments. As part of our coverage, you'll also find an interview with Andy Parsons, senior vice president of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., about his company's Blu-ray Disc plans, as well as a gallery of more than 50 images from the convention floor, including plenty of pictures of Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD hardware and software.
